Mineral, smoky and citrus nuances unfold with elegance. The palate, precise and taut, reveals a pure texture and a finish marked by a delicate salinity.
An Alsace Grand Cru of exceptional finesse from Bott Geyl
The estate
Domaine Bott Geyl, located in Beblenheim in Alsace, is renowned for its commitment to organic and biodynamic farming. The estate places great importance on respecting the unique character of Alsace's terroirs, tending its plots with sustainable, environmentally friendly practices. The crémants and wines of Domaine Bott Geyl reflect this dedication to quality, combining purity and finesse to express the full potential of the region's soils.
The vineyard
The vineyard lies in the village of Kientzheim in Alsace, at the heart of an exceptional terroir. Planted on a small plot of 0.80 hectares, the vines, aged between 25 and 55 years, draw the very best from the decomposed granite that makes up the soil. This subsoil fosters a vibrant minerality and fine tension in the wines. The south to south-west exposure, combined with a steep slope of 30 to 45%, ensures optimal sunlight, allowing the grapes to reach perfect ripeness.
Winemaking and ageing
The grapes are harvested by hand, carefully sorted and transported in 40 kg crates, before undergoing a slow whole-bunch pressing. After 24 hours of static settling, alcoholic fermentation is carried out with indigenous yeasts at a controlled temperature. Aged on fine lees until September, the wine is only lightly filtered before bottling.
