Description
Characteristics and tasting notes of the Bourgogne Chardonnay "Cuvée Flavie" 2022 Domaine Guy Amiot et Fils
Tasting
Colour
This white wine reveals a bright and luminous colour.
Nose
The aromatic bouquet is complex and nuanced, opening with fresh citrus scents such as lemon and grapefruit, intimately blended with green apple and pear. Delicate floral touches of acacia and honeysuckle intertwine with saline mineral notes, along with hints of vanilla and brioche from its time in oak.
Palate
The attack is fresh, introducing a palate with a harmonious texture and medium weight. The orchard fruit and citrus flavours balance perfectly with lovely mineral tension and a fine line of acidity. The finish, of moderate length, stretches out elegantly with notes of citrus, minerals and a subtle vanilla touch.
Food and wine pairing
This white wine pairs wonderfully with creamy pasta dishes, oily fish such as salmon or tuna, as well as shellfish. It also goes very well with creamy poultry dishes, vegetarian dishes based on asparagus, or a platter of soft or pressed cooked cheeses such as brie or comté.
Service and storage
To fully enjoy this Bourgogne Chardonnay "Cuvée Flavie" 2022, it is recommended to serve it at a temperature between 13 and 14°C, after chilling for an hour in the refrigerator. Approachable from its youth, this wine offers immediate pleasure but can continue to evolve in the cellar until around 2027.
Other characteristics
The alcohol content of this wine generally ranges between 12 and 13.5%. Its Art Nouveau-style label pays a fine tribute to the original design created by the family during the estate's very first bottlings.
The authentic expression of the Chassagne-Montrachet terroir by Domaine Guy Amiot et Fils
The estate
Founded in 1920 by Flavie and Arsène Amiot, Domaine Guy Amiot et Fils is a historic family estate located in Chassagne-Montrachet, in Burgundy. A pioneer of estate bottling, this institution now manages a vineyard of approximately 10 hectares. Currently led by Thierry and Fabrice Amiot, joined by Héloïse, representing the fifth generation, the estate stands out for its sustainable approach and its commitment to highlighting the fundamental role of women in its winemaking history.
The vineyard
This Bourgogne wine comes from a 0.50-hectare plot facing south-east, resting on clay-limestone soils typical of the Côte de Beaune. Approximately 45 years old, the vines benefit from sustainable viticulture using integrated pest management. Soil work through ploughing, bud thinning and meticulous leaf removal help preserve the ecosystem while promoting grape concentration.
The vintage
The year 2022 stood out for its warm and dry weather conditions, favouring a generous growing cycle. These mild temperatures allowed for an early harvest, offering grapes with optimal ripeness and a lovely balance ahead of the autumn rains.
Winemaking and aging
The production of the Bourgogne Chardonnay "Cuvée Flavie" 2022 is based on a philosophy of minimal intervention aimed at preserving the purity of the fruit. The winemaking combines fermentation in stainless steel tanks to enhance freshness, with partial aging in oak barrels bringing additional complexity and depth.
Grape variety
100% Chardonnay.
