Description
A brilliant and fine Gevrey-Chambertin Village wine
The estate
Founded in 1782 and present in 9 Burgundian appellations, Domaine Henri Rebourseau is one of the estates which owns the most extensive surface area of Grands Crus in the Côte de Nuits. The estate hails its exceptional heritage-filled vines, resting on land that has been cultivated for over 1400 years. Today, the de Surrel family watch over this exceptional heritage by carrying out organic and biodynamic farming practices. Thus, there is no unique "Rebourseau taste" and the quality-oriented approach emphasises the crucial part that the ''climat'' plays in the production of fine wines.
The vineyard
Domaine Henri Rebourseau stretches over the emblematic Burgundy terroir Côte de Nuits.
The wine
"Aux Corvées" 2019 is a Gevrey-Chambertin Village wine that stems from a vineyard of 2.34 hectares in the south of the appellation. The vines, on average 54 years old, are planted on a quite deep soil, about one or two metres.
The vintage
Though the growing cycle in the Gevrey-Chambertin area started slowly, it accelerated from May onwards. The summer notably had two heatwaves.
Winemaking and ageing
The harvested grapes were chilled in the depths of the winery as soon as they arrived. A minimal intervention was chosen when the fermentation took place with light treading the cap.
Blend
Pinot noir (100%).
