The story of the Endrizzi estate began in 1885. The philosophy of the owners, Paolo and Christine Endrici, is based on simple principles: understanding that the wine is the end result of long processes during which environmentally-minded agriculture takes centre stage. With this in mind, the estate has banned the use of chemical treatments on the estate and has reduced added sulphites in the wine. All of these measures are reasons why wines by Endrizzi are so renowned. Indeed, these sublime Italian wines stand out for their unique character, representative of the terroir of origin from which they were borne and which bear the Endrizzi label.
Considered as one of the oldest estates in Trentin, Endrizzi enjoys an enchanting location in the south of the Alps, at the crossroads between a warm, Mediterranean climate and a cooler, continental climate. The vineyards of Pian Di Castello, Masetto and Kinderleit are all located near the village of San Michele all’Adage, at the heart of Adige in Italy.
Masetto Nero 2017 is borne from old vines in the Farm Masetto and Maso Kinderleit vineyards in St. Michael all’Adige. The terroir is typical to Rio Faedo, the soil thus being influenced by limestone.
Winemaking and ageing
After the manual harvests, during which the best berries are selected, the grapes are taken to the cellar to begin the vinification process typical to the estate. The berries ferment for 10 days, after which maceration and malolactic fermentation are carried out. To finish, the wine ages in barrels for 18 months and in bottle for 6 months.
Masetto Nero 2017 is made up of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Lagrein and Teroldego, following an ancient tradition that was begun by François Endrici, founder of the estate.

The aromatic bouquet expresses great elegance sustained by spicy, complex fragrances which harmonise with notes of blueberry, raspberry, cocoa or even vanilla.
Masetto Nero 2017 unveils the flavourful character of a full-bodied wine with an impressive harmony. The tannins are very intense and the finish leaves an exquisite persistence on the palate.

Thanks to its elegance and structure, Masetto Nero 2017 will enhance all red and white meat-based dishes, but also a wide range of cheeses.
Serving and keeping
Masetto Nero 2017 can be appreciated until 2022. For an optimal tasting, serve at between 18 and 20°C.
