An Auxey-Duresses Village with a Fine, Balanced Profile, Crafted by Jean-Charles Fagot
The Estate
Jean-Charles Fagot has been making wine under his own name since 1989, based in Corpeau, between Chagny and Puligny-Montrachet, in the heart of Burgundy. A winegrower and négociant-éleveur, he complements the activity of his estate by purchasing grapes from neighbouring growers in order to offer a broader range of Côte de Beaune appellations. Since 1998, he has also been a restaurateur at the Auberge du Vieux Vigneron, where his wines take pride of place, making him a singular figure who combines vineyard, cellar and table.
The Vineyard
The grapes for this cuvée come from the terroir of Auxey-Duresses, an AOC appellation of the Côte de Beaune set on hillsides with marl and limestone soils. The vineyard is managed with respect for the environment, using sustainable pest and disease control that limits chemical interventions, and the grapes are harvested exclusively by hand to preserve the integrity of the bunches.
Vinification and Maturation
The Auxey-Duresses Village "La Jonchère" 2025 is vinified using a traditional approach, with fermentation carried out in wooden vats or foudres, limiting technical interventions to preserve the purity of the fruit. The wine is then aged for several months in the estate's cellars, allowing it to develop its structure and complexity before bottling.
Grape Variety
This wine is made from 100% Pinot Noir.
