Description
The aromatic richness and freshness of a Pessac-Léognan white Second Wine
The estate
Located in the heart of the Pessac-Léognan appellation and dating back to 1365, Château Smith Haut Lafitte is one of the oldest châteaux in Bordeaux. This magnificent estate entered a new era in its history when it was bought by Daniel and Florence Cathiard in 1990. Château Smith Haut Laffite, driven by the passion and ambition of the Cathiards, has established itself as one of the finest estates in Graves, with wines renowned the world over for their elegance and style, both red and white.
The wine
Petit Smith Haut Lafitte 2022 is the estate's second wine, made from vines selected by massal selection and grafted from the estate's mother vines.
Winemaking and ageing
Hand-picked in small crates, followed by pressing. Fermentation in French oak barrels (50% new wood) after cold static settling. The wine is aged for 12 months on the lees with stirring in barrels (50% new and 50% from one wine) made in the estate's cooperage.
Blend
Sauvignon Blanc (80%)
Semillon (20%)
