An Exceptional Vintage Fins Bois Cognac by Bache-Gabrielsen
The Bache-Gabrielsen house: a Franco-Norwegian identity
Founded in 1905 by Norwegian Thomas Bache-Gabrielsen, the Bache-Gabrielsen house is a distinctive négociant based in the heart of the town of Cognac. With no vineyards of its own, it relies on a strong network of partner growers to craft its eaux-de-vie. Today, the house is wholly owned by the founding family and run by Hervé Bache-Gabrielsen, the fourth generation, while his father Christian serves as chairman. The house stands out for its ability to combine Charente tradition with an innovative approach and great transparency about the age of its cuvées. Drawing on very old historic stocks, it offers spirits of remarkable authenticity, highly prized by discerning connoisseurs.
The 2001 vintage: a pure expression of the Fins Bois terroir
Years in Cask 21 Years Old Fins Bois 2001 is a very limited edition that perfectly illustrates the house's expertise. Made from Ugni Blanc grown in the Fins Bois cru, this Cognac benefited from the ideal weather conditions of 2001: a cold, wet winter followed by a hot summer with cool nights, ensuring optimal ripening and fine acidity in the grapes.
After distillation, this cuvée underwent extended ageing for 21 years in French Limousin oak casks. This long rest shaped a balanced structure and great aromatic complexity. Bottled in 2023, this exceptional spirit is a true collector's item.
Presented in an elegant "Tradition" gift box with a white case, this vintage highlights the brand's philosophy, centred on celebrating time and the pure expression of a single year.
