An Exceptional Calvados Aged 20 Years

Famille Dupont, a Norman Tradition Since 1887

Founded in 1887 by Jules Dupont in Calvados, France, the Domaine Famille Dupont has upheld for four generations the traditional art of Norman distillation. Situated in Victot-Pontfol on Oxfordian clay and marl soils, the estate remains under the direction of Famille Dupont, who master the entire process from orchard to distillation. The House is renowned for its traditional double distillation and extended aging in 400-litre oak casks, producing exceptional calvados known for their aromatic complexity and finesse, true ambassadors of the Pays d'Auge terroir.

The Traditional Production of Calvados "20 Ans"

This Calvados "20 Ans" is crafted from a blend of 80% bittersweet apples and 20% sharp apples, harvested from September to November on the estate’s Oxfordian clay and marl soils. The apples are mixed, crushed and pressed before the juice ferments completely to produce the cider destined for distillation.

Double distillation takes place about a month after fermentation. The first distillation yields the “petite eau” at 30% ABV, then a second distillation of this “petite eau” gives birth to the calvados. It then matures for at least 20 years in toasted 400-litre oak casks, developing its copper color and exceptional aromatic complexity.
