Description
An exceptional Scottish whisky aged in Burgundy cellars
Michel Couvreur, the visionary
Born in Belgium in 1928, Michel Couvreur began his career as a Burgundy wine merchant before becoming an independent whisky bottler. Known for his unique approach to aging, he stands out for his art of ageing Scottish distillates in Sherry and Port barrels within his Burgundy cellars, offering ideal conditions for maturation. Recognised for their complexity, these whiskies are produced in limited quantities, highly prized by connoisseurs.
Following his death in 2013, his son-in-law Cyril Deschamps and cellar master Jean-Arnaud Frantzen, supported by Marthe, Michel's wife, and their daughter Alexandra, continue the philosophy of excellence and pioneering vision of this illustrious House.
The expression of a great blended malt whisky
The Overaged Malt Whisky from Michel Couvreur is a blended malt whisky peated and made from the blend of a selection of 12-year and 20-year whiskies, aged in Pedro Ximenez sherry barrels within Burgundy cellars.
