Description

Characteristics and tasting notes of the Liqueur L'Abricot by Sab's

Tasting

Appearance
Golden and luminous, it reveals amber reflections evoking the flesh of a perfectly ripe apricot.

Nose
Indulgent and captivating, it unveils a very pure expression of sun-ripened apricot. A subtle note of sweet almond adds a pastry touch reminiscent of frangipane.

Palate
Round, velvety and silky. It offers an enveloping sensation of apricot compote, perfectly balanced by an almond thread that structures the palate without any excess of sugar. The finish is persistent, delicately sweet, enhanced by an elegant hint of bitter almond.

Pairings and tasting occasions

Ideal as an aperitif, this liqueur is best enjoyed neat and well chilled (between 6 and 8 °C) or simply on the rocks. At the end of a meal, it enhances a caramelised apricot tart or a dark chocolate fondant thanks to its pastry notes. It also pairs wonderfully with lightly sweetened fresh cheeses, such as a faisselle drizzled with honey.

Mixology

Perfect for crafting elegant and fruity cocktails, it particularly shines in an Apricot Spritz. Paired with a dry sparkling wine, such as a Crémant de Bourgogne, and a splash of sparkling water, it makes an excellent alternative to traditional bitters. A slice of fresh apricot as a garnish will elevate the whole creation.

An artisanal apricot liqueur by Sab's

The Sab's distillery: excellence in the heart of Burgundy

Heir to the Pigneret distillery founded in 1941, the House was taken over in 2018 by Mathieu Sabbagh. He breathed new life into this institution by creating the Sab's brand in 2020, while preserving an invaluable production tool: the travelling steam still. Located in Beaune, in the heart of Burgundy, the distillery is today the last in the region to perpetuate this itinerant tradition, distilling as close as possible to the vineyards and orchards. Under the leadership of Mathieu Sabbagh, Sab's stands out for producing spirits and liqueurs of remarkable precision. The estate's philosophy is built on drinkability, offering gastronomic creations that are accessible and deeply rooted in their terroir, as illustrated by their eaux-de-vie made from Pinot Noir and Chardonnay marcs.

The making of Liqueur L'Abricot

Liqueur L'Abricot is an exceptional artisanal creation, showcasing fruit harvested at perfect ripeness in Tain-l'Hermitage.

This apricot liqueur is based on a meticulous production process. The fruits, carefully pitted, are macerated in a Burgundian wine brandy, an eau-de-vie distilled from Chardonnay and Pinot Noir marcs. This noble base allows for optimal extraction of the fruit's aromas and natural sugars.

To add complexity to the profile of this liqueur, the almonds from the pits are blanched and then infused, bringing a delicate pastry thread. Finally, the blend is completed with the addition of an apricot eau-de-vie, which intensifies the fruity dimension and the depth on the palate. Presented in a refined bottle inspired by old apothecary flasks, this creation perfectly illustrates the union between Burgundian tradition and a contemporary vision of spirits.
