Robert Parker

Kristaps Karklins

Based on the 2021 vintage and including 30% reserve wines, the most recent release of Ruinart’s NV Brut Rosé was disgorged in March 2024 with a dosage of eight grams per liter. It reveals aromas of pomegranate, dark cherry, redcurrant and blood orange, mingling with cranberry, brioche and a touch of rooibos. On the palate, it is medium-bodied and elegantly muscular, vinous and layered, with lively acidity and a perfumed, saline-tinged finish. Harmoniously balanced, it is among the most compelling in its category.

A little sharp, with earth and clove notes augmenting the cherry flavor. Lacks the length of the best rosés. Drink now.

Decanter

The nose offers red berries, orange peel and figs, complemented by golden apple and white bread. On the crisp palate there’s bright fruit, good acidity and balance, with cranberry and grapefruit notes.

An enticing, properly dry rosé with a slew of red-berry aromas, including wild strawberries. Behind this lies the structure of a serious chardonnay from the chalky soils of this region, and it’s the chalky texture that anchors the long finish. Drink now.

Vinous

Stephen Tanzer

Pale salmon-orange. Aromas of orange peel, strawberry, toast and Juicyfruit gum. Fruity and easygoing, with good life on the palate. Finishes with a lingering, slightly jammy raspberry flavor. This is probably best served with food, as it might cloy on its own.

Falstaff

Medium salmon pink, golden reflections, fine mousse. A hint of ripe heart cherry, delicate hints of red forest berry confit, candied orange zest. Medium complexity, fine fruit sweetness, elegant, harmonious, shows good freshness, mineral on the finish, lingers well, a multi-faceted companion at the table.

The Ruinart house style leans towards producing elegant lightweight Champagnes and even it's rose follows suit. Strawberry and citrus aromas give way to berry, toast and mushroom flavors. It's dry and light--a pink bubbly perfect as a Valentine's Day aperitif.

Description

A gourmet, fresh and elegant champagne wine in a sustainable envelope

The estate

Ruinart, the first Champagne House founded in 1729, is located in the heart of Reims. Elegance, style and timelessness are part of the Ruinart Champagne House’s very DNA. Regarded as one of the most valued brands in France, Ruinart embodies the excellence of the French ‘’art de vivre’’ in all four corners of the world.

The wine

Following over two years of research and development, the Ruinart Champagne House unveils its new case: Ruinart Second Skin. An sustainable alternative to boxes, Ruinart’s Second Skin is a 100% paper envelope, entirely recyclable and molded to the shape of the bottle. This Second Skin, whose colour and texture are inspired by the House's historical chalk quarries, enhances the curves of the bottle. Driven by the desire to pursue their activism towards improving tomorrow’s environmental challenges, the Ruinart Champagne House has successfully combined aestheticism, authenticity and responsibility.

The blend

Ruinart Rosé is a wine from the Champagne region and comprises a blend of 55% Pinot Noir from the Montagne de Reims and the Vallée de la Marne and 45% Chardonnay from the Côte des Blancs and the Montagne de Reims, 20 to 25% reserve wines from the last two years are added to the blend.
