Located in the municipality of Saint-Sauveur in the Médoc, bordering the region of the Pauillac appellation, Château Peyrabon is a Haut-Médoc with 45 hectares of vines planted on beautiful gravelly hills, all on clay subsoils. Modernized and completely renovated under the initiative of Patrick Bernard since his buyout in 1998, this Cru Bourgeois produces wines with a strong emphasis on fruit and a refined power on the palate. Château Peyrabon 2016 comes from a blend of 67% Cabernet Sauvignon, 27% Merlot, 4% Petit Verdot and 2% Cabernet Franc. The vintage is rich in color, visible through almost inky tints. The nose is complex from the outset, generous in black fruits, dominated by hints of blueberry and blackberry. The entry on the palate is refreshing, quite dynamic with a great acidity. The mid-palate, made of tannins with a very elegant grain, is soft, delicate, coated in texture. Peyrabon 2016 reveals beautiful Cabernet Sauvignons and pretty Petits Verdots imparting a unique spicy touch to the blend.
