Description
Characteristics and tasting notes of the Domaine Albert Mann Gewurztraminer 2024
Tasting notes
Colour
This vin de France reveals a beautiful white hue.
Nose
The aromatic bouquet reveals great complexity, exuding characteristic notes of lychee and rose petals. It then opens onto stone fruit notes such as peach and apricot, mingled with tropical touches of mango, passion fruit and kumquat. Subtle exotic spice notes, evoking ginger, saffron, nutmeg and a hint of curry, round off this nose beautifully.
Palate
Full-bodied and spicy, the palate offers a moderate sweetness perfectly balanced by lovely freshness and mineral precision. The aromatic intensity perceived on the nose carries through harmoniously, extending into a lingering, captivating finish.
Food and wine pairing
This wine pairs wonderfully with regional cuisine, enhancing foie gras, Munster cheese or a tarte flambée. It also pairs brilliantly with duck dishes, as well as spicy dishes from Asian, Indian or Moroccan cuisine, such as Thai curry, tandoori chicken or tajine. Finally, it pairs elegantly with smoked fish or roasted vegetables.
Other characteristics
This wine stands out for its off-dry profile, with a light natural residual sweetness. Its alcohol content is 13.5%.

The estate
Born in 1984 from the union of the Barthelmé and Mann families, Domaine Albert Mann spans 25 hectares in Alsace. Now run by Jacky and Marie-Thérèse Barthelmé, alongside the new generation represented by Antoine and Pauline Barthelmé, the estate is distinguished by its environmentally respectful approach. A pioneer of biodynamic viticulture in the region, the estate cultivates a mosaic of terroirs, including seven Grands Crus and one monopole. It is internationally renowned for its authentic cuvées, reflecting the purity and geological diversity of its vineyard.
The vineyard
Located in Wettolsheim, in the Haut-Rhin in Alsace, the vineyard benefits from a dry, sunny continental climate, protected from rainfall by the Vosges mountains. The vines flourish across a wide geological diversity, combining limestone, granite, marl and clay-limestone soils. The management of the plots is based on rigorous biodynamic principles, including manual or horse-drawn ploughing, controlled grass cover and the exclusive use of natural composts to preserve the ecological balance and vitality of the soils.
Winemaking and aging
The winemaking of the Gewurztraminer 2024 follows a philosophy of minimal intervention. After meticulous hand harvesting, fermentation begins spontaneously thanks to indigenous yeasts naturally present on the grapes and in the cellar. The wine is then aged in traditional wooden foudres, allowing it to develop complexity while preserving the authenticity and freshness of the fruit, without excessive oak influence.
