The estate
Although the family has been cultivating vines since 1640, Domaine Hubert Lamy was officially established in 1973. Originally covering eight hectares, the Burgundy estate now spans more than eighteen hectares across several prestigious appellations. Since taking over, Olivier Lamy, the current owner who runs the estate with his wife Karine, has profoundly shaped the identity of the house. A pioneer of very high-density plantings and a proponent of environmentally respectful viticulture, he has elevated the estate to the ranks of the region's essential references.
The vineyard
The cuvée comes from the Les Tremblots parcel, a tiny terroir located in the southern part of the Puligny-Montrachet appellation. Planted in 1946 and 1970, these old vines flourish on a gentle slope at 230 metres in altitude. The soil, composed of limestone marls scattered with white pebbles, gives the wine its characteristic mineral backbone. The vineyard is managed using sustainable methods, without chemical fertilisers, favouring massal selection and meticulous canopy management.
The vintage
The 2023 vintage stood out for its particularly mild climatic conditions, sparing the vines from frost and hail. Adequate rainfall and ideal temperatures allowed for a harmonious growing cycle. Generous sunshine during ripening promoted excellent berry maturity while preserving lovely freshness, resulting in a harvest of remarkable quality.
Vinification and ageing
The Puligny-Montrachet Village "Les Tremblots Vieilles Vignes" 2023 is crafted with a philosophy of minimal intervention. After gentle pneumatic pressing and overnight settling, fermentation begins naturally thanks to indigenous yeasts. The wine is then aged on fine lees for 24 months in large-format oak barrels, aged one to five years to limit the woody impact. Ageing concludes with six months of rest in stainless steel tanks before bottling.
Grape variety
100% Chardonnay.
