Description
Characteristics and tasting advice for Fillaboa's Albarino 2025
Tasting
Colour
This wine displays a pale, luminous yellow hue, sometimes enhanced by subtle hints of green.
Nose
The bouquet shows fine aromatic intensity, blending notes of ripe stone fruit such as peach with touches of citrus and pineapple. Delicate mineral and floral nuances complete the picture.
Palate
The palate offers a broad, slightly unctuous texture. This generosity is perfectly balanced by a refreshing acidity that lengthens the finish with precision.
Food and wine pairing
This white wine is an ideal match for seafood such as oysters, scallops or shellfish. It also pairs beautifully with traditional dishes like Galician-style octopus or seafood paella, as well as Asian cuisine such as white fish sashimi.
Serving and cellaring
To fully appreciate all the nuances of this 2025 vintage, serve it at a temperature between 8 and 10°C. It will reveal its full potential over the coming years, developing well in the cellar until around 2030.
The freshness and aromatic complexity of a white wine from Rías Baixas
The estate
Located in Salvaterra de Miño in Galicia, the Fillaboa estate dates back to the early 19th century. Acquired by the Masaveu family in 2001, it now belongs to the Masaveu Bodegas group. This historic estate stands out for its magnificent stately pazo and its strong commitment to sustainability, reflected in its environmental certification. As the only member from its region of the prestigious Grandes Pagos de España association, the bodega produces white wines renowned for their quality, faithfully expressing the identity of this exceptional Atlantic terroir.
The vineyard
The estate covers 74 hectares, 50 of which are planted with vines on south-facing slopes within the Rías Baixas appellation. Bordered by the Tea and Miño rivers, this terroir enjoys a mild, humid Atlantic climate. The soils, made up of clay and rounded pebbles, encourage deep rooting. The vines are traditionally trained on pergolas as well as on trellises, allowing optimal aeration of the bunches and meticulous canopy management.
Winemaking and ageing
This Spanish wine is crafted to preserve the aromatic purity and natural freshness of the fruit. Vinification is carried out with precision to highlight the primary expression of the grape variety, with no barrel ageing whatsoever, ensuring a vibrant and authentic profile.
Grape variety
100% Albariño.
