The name Mâcon-Milly-Lamartine is shared among the municipalities of Berzé-la-Ville, Berzé-le-Châtel, Milly-Lamartine and Sologny. Like all of the Mâcon village appellations, the vines benefit from clay-limestone soils. However, the vines in Mâcon-Milly-Lamartine benefit from calcareous soils to fossilized molluscs. The wines of the Mâcon-Milly-Lamartine appellation reveal floral, vegetal, and citrus notes, as well as additional notes of aniseed, balsamic and fruit. The wines are concentrated, fresh and fruity on the palate, and offer a good ageing potential due to a magnificent acidity.
