In the emblematic settings of Cuba, a country famous for the excellence of its rums, the Eminente distillery perpetuates a centuries-old tradition in the art of producing spirits.
What is the history of Eminente House?
Eminente House was born from the collaboration between the LVMH group and the Cuban company Cuba Ron, valorizing the Cuban rum heritage. Under the expertise of Maestro Ronero César Martí, it distinguishes itself by the large proportion of aguardientes in its blends and by obtaining the rare protected designation D.O.P. Ron de Cuba.
Everything you need to know about the distillery
Remarkable geology and climate
Strategically positioned, the distillery benefits from ideal exposure, receiving optimal sunshine for sugar cane maturation while being protected from bad weather by surrounding hills. The region's mineral-rich soils, legacy of ancient volcanic eruptions, offer a perfect base for cultivating premium sugar cane, essential for producing quality rum. Moreover, Cuba's tropical climate, with its regular rains and warm temperatures, is the ideal breeding ground for robust sugar cane, guaranteeing exceptional raw materials each year.
A responsible approach
True to tradition, Eminente uses sustainable cultivation methods, favoring an environmentally respectful approach. Crop rotation, reasoned irrigation and the absence of chemicals are among the practices adopted.
César Martí, Cuba's youngest Maestro Ronero
"I wanted to transmit the culture, the tradition and magnify the art of Cuban rum through Eminente," declared César Martí.
César Martí was trained by his grandparents, growing up among vast sugar cane fields. Strengthened by this family heritage, he decided to dedicate his life to preserving, spreading and innovating Cuban savoir-faire to develop rums of unequaled quality. After completing his studies in physics and engineering, he became the country's youngest Maestro Ronero in just nine years, a feat that remains unmatched to this day. After harvest, sugar cane is quickly transported to the distillery to guarantee its freshness. The fermentation process is carefully monitored to obtain rich molasses which, once distilled, gives life to unique rums.
The distillery's rum style
An innovative Cuban rum
Eminente Reserva embodies a new rum category, distinguished by a composition comprising 70% aged aguardientes, the highest proportion among all Cuban rums. Inspired by 19th-century Cuban rums, it is characterized by the richness and depth of its aromas. Our master distiller infuses additional complexity by mastering the art of blending these aguardientes.
Spirit profile
Eminente is ideal for tasting, whether on ice or in cocktails. It marries the aesthetics of a traditional light Cuban rum with the richness and depth of an aged rum. It reveals notes of exotic fruits, tobacco and vanilla. Its velvety texture and long finish distinguish it from other Cuban rums.
An emblematic bottle of Cuba
The island is home to about 3,000 unique species, including the Cuban crocodile, hidden in the depths of the Zapata swamp, the country's largest wetland, south of Matanzas province. What creature could better embody Cuba's essence than this wild, enigmatic and revered animal? Eminente celebrates this authentic aspect of Cuba right down to its bottle and emblem. The glass texture and the island's representation on the label indeed evoke the country's emblematic animal.
Food and rum pairings
Eminente rum pairs perfectly with spicy dishes, aged cheeses or chocolate desserts.
Mixology
Ideal for refined cocktails, Eminente lends itself perfectly to creations like Mojito, Daiquiri or Old Cuban, offering a robust and aromatic base for the most demanding mixologists.
