Tasting

Nose
A highly expressive bouquet, unveiling fruity aromas marked by a beautiful complexity.

Palate
The attack is intense and ample. The rounded texture is balanced by a fine acidity and perfectly ripe phenolic compounds. The finish, strongly structured, stands out for its pronounced salinity, which lends a character that is both pleasant and complex.

The excellence of a great Valdeorras wine by Rafael Palacios

The estate
Located in Galicia, in the Valdeorras region, the estate is run by Rafael Palacios, who comes from a renowned winegrowing family that notably includes Alvaro Palacios. This estate has established itself as a benchmark name thanks to an ever more refined understanding of its terroir. Today, under the guidance of its owner Rafael Palacios and technical director Pablo Blanco, the meticulous work carried out in the cellar and in the vineyards achieves remarkable levels of precision.

The vineyard
The vines flourish in Spain, more specifically in Galicia within the Valdeorras appellation, in the Val do Bibei and O Bolo areas. Work in the vineyard benefits from an in-depth understanding and a constant refinement of cultivation practices on this terroir.

The vintage
Considered the finest year produced to date for this cuvée, the season began with the coldest spring and winter recorded over the past four years. The late budburst helped avoid frost damage. Before the summer period, rainfall of around 400 mm built up excellent water reserves in the soils. The summer proved slightly warmer and drier, followed by light rain between late August and early September, encouraging optimal phenolic ripening. The harvest took place under mild weather conditions between 25 September and 15 October.

Winemaking and aging
The production of Louro 2025 is based on highly precise work and meticulous attention in the cellar, allowing the full potential of the harvest to be revealed.

Grape variety
This wine is made from the Godello grape variety.
