A Speyside single malt with Eastern influences
Macallan: an iconic Scottish distillery
Founded in 1824 by Alexander Reid in Scotland’s Speyside, Macallan ranks among the most prestigious Scotch whisky distilleries. Owned by the Edrington group since 1999, it stands out for its copper stills—among the smallest in Speyside—and its exclusive maturation in Spanish sherry casks, a hallmark established by Roderick Kemp in 1892. Edrington controls 95% of the sherry casks imported into Scotland, giving Macallan a decisive advantage. The world’s third-largest single malt, the distillery produces more than 15 million liters each year on its 390-acre Easter Elchies estate.
The meeting of two cultures through an exceptional spirit
The Harmony Collection V x JING Phoenix Honey Orchid Tea is the fifth edition in Macallan’s Harmony Collection, launched in June 2025. This limited-edition Scotch whisky celebrates an exclusive collaboration with JING, a renowned tea producer, centered on Phoenix Honey Orchid tea—signature for its aromas reminiscent of wine and desserts, lifted by notes of exotic fruit.
The aging relies primarily on American oak casks that previously held sherry, balanced by European ex-sherry oak, with a subtle touch of ex-bourbon casks. This composition reflects the sought-after aromatic complexity, echoing the nuances of the inspiration tea.
The innovative packaging, in a teal blue hue reminiscent of Oolong tea leaves, embodies the shared values of sustainability and responsible craftsmanship between Macallan and JING. This approach perfectly illustrates both houses’ philosophies of excellence.
