An Exceptional Japanese Single Malt from Hokkaidō, Award-Winning and Finely Peated

Nikka, Pioneer of Japanese Whisky Since 1934

Founded in 1934 by Masataka Taketsuru, a pioneer of Japanese whisky trained in Scotland, Nikka has established itself as one of Japan's most prestigious houses. Originally founded in Yoichi (Hokkaidō) and expanded to Miyagikyo (Sendai) in 1969, the distillery draws on two distinct terroirs to create its exceptional single malts. Owned by the Asahi group since 1954, Nikka continues its founder's legacy through a comprehensive range of pure malts and blends, including the famous "From the Barrel", combining Scottish tradition with Japanese refinement.

The Yoichi Single Malt, Flagship of the Hokkaidō Distillery

Launched in 1989, the Yoichi Single Malt is a Blend of whiskies of different ages that faithfully reflects Masataka Taketsuru's work according to traditional Scottish methods. Produced at the Yoichi distillery in Hokkaidō, just 1 km from the Sea of Japan, this whisky benefits from an exceptional maritime terroir.

The distillation is carried out using traditional methods including direct coal-fired heating, creating a moderate char that gives this Japanese whisky its distinctive aromas. The distillery has its own cooperage using new oak casks made on-site. The sea breeze from Ishikari Bay imparts a marine aroma to the malt, contributing to its characteristic iodic profile.

Awarded the title of "World's Best Single Malt" at the World Whiskies Awards in 2002 and 2008, this whisky is considered one of the finest available on the market. It is presented in a deep blue case that evokes the maritime climate of its region of origin.
