Yann Chave : Le Rouvre 2022

Suave, soft, ripe blackberry and blackcurrant. Supple and ripe tannin. It has a good sense of balance and drinkability, plus a long finish. One of the better 2022 Crozes.

An amazing Crozes-Hermitage. Very complex nose with notes of candied bitter oranges, mulberries and hot, dry earth. Serious concentration for this appellation, plus a stack of fine tannins that exactly balance the finely nuanced forest berries and citrus fruit. Super-long, very polished finish. Drink or hold.

Certified organic (FR-BIO-01). Cask sample. Tasted blind. The nose is bright with lavender and dark fruits. Nice freshness and taut tannins with good energy and vibrancy. Not hugely complex but enjoyable, ripe and with good freshness. (AC)

The 2022 Crozes-Hermitage Le Rouvre was vinified from fully destemmed, certified organic grapes. Meaty subtleties mingle with touches of cedar and black cherry on the complex aromatic profile. Engaging the palate with elevated flavor concentration and solid freshness, the savory 2022 requires at least two more years to show its full potential. This is a delicious Crozes from Yann Chave.

Dark purple-hued colour. Pure, modern and polished with fine oak, violet-scented dark fruit, crushed blackberry and raw meat. The palate is dense and concentrated with layers of inky dark fruit, plenty of refreshing tannin with balanced oak, spicy incense and pepper notes followed by a very long pure finish.
