The freshness and minerality of a white wine from Patrimonio
The estate
Founded in 2004 by Yves and Sandrine Leccia, Domaine Yves Leccia is located in France, on the island of Corsica. Although the family's winemaking heritage is far older, it was at this point that the couple decided to create their own estate. Today, Yves Leccia, an emblematic figure of Corsican viticulture, still runs the property. Covering about fifteen hectares, the estate stands out for its environmental commitment and its desire to showcase indigenous grape varieties through cuvées of great precision.
The vineyard
This white wine from Patrimonio comes from the lieu-dit E Croce, an exceptional southwest-facing terroir. The vines thrive on clay-limestone soils resting on a bed of schist, at the foot of the mountains extending the Cap Corse. The vineyard benefits from an ideal maritime microclimate, influenced by the Gulf of Saint-Florent, which promotes optimal ripening of the berries while preserving their tension. Farmed organically, the vineyard receives meticulous care, with traditional soil cultivation, short pruning and exclusively hand-harvested grapes.
Winemaking and aging
To produce the E Croce 2025 cuvée, the grapes are whole-bunch pressed. The must then undergoes cold settling before fermenting in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. To preserve all the vibrancy and purity of the fruit, malolactic fermentation is not carried out. Finally, the wine is aged for six months in stainless steel tanks, with no oak contact, guaranteeing an authentic expression of its terroir.
