Description
A complex and delicate Saint-Emilion wine
The estate
The Meslin family, who currently own Château Laroze, are direct descendants of the estate’s founders, which was established in 1882. This age-old lineage has enabled Château Laroze to build a unique identity in the heart of Saint-Emilion on the right bank of Bordeaux.
The vineyard
Château Laroze 2021 is a Saint-Emilion wine made from a 27-hectare vineyard that is northwest facing and poised at the foot of the hillside. The vines are 25 years old on average and are planted on a soil composed of silica on clay.
Vinification and ageing
Vinification in temperature-controlled stainless steel and concrete vats. The wine is aged in French oak barrels (55% new oak), in vats (35%) and in amphorae (10%).
The blend
Château Laroze 2021 comprises a blend of Merlot (60%), Cabernet Franc (30%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (10%).
