The estate

Founded in 1835, the house of Delas Frères is a historic figure of the northern Rhône Valley. Initially established in Tournon-sur-Rhône, it now has facilities in Saint-Jean-de-Muzols and Tain-l'Hermitage. Since its acquisition in 1993, the estate has belonged to the Rouzaud family, who brought about a genuine qualitative renaissance for the property. Now led by Marc Hoellinger, the house of Delas stands out for its deep commitment to showcasing the expression of its terroirs through a 30-hectare vineyard spread across prestigious appellations.

The vineyard

This wine comes from three distinct terroirs located on the legendary hill of the Hermitage appellation. The vines thrive on steep slopes benefiting from optimal south-facing exposure, sheltered from northern winds. This unique terroir is composed of granitic arenas covered with mica-schist, gneiss, and rolled alluvial pebbles. The vineyard is managed with meticulous care, involving entirely manual work and the use of massale selection to preserve the diversity and resilience of the vines.

Winemaking and aging

The exclusively manual harvest allows for a rigorous selection of the bunches before they arrive at the winery. The Domaine des Tourettes 2022 is crafted in a cellar specifically dedicated to red winemaking, the result of major investments aimed at honoring the identity of the terroir. This cuvée has the distinction of being the first wine made exclusively from plots owned and farmed directly by the house on the hill, ensuring total control over production right through to bottling.
