Description
Characteristics and tasting notes for the Beaune 1er Cru "Les Montrevenots" 2022 Domaine A.F. Gros
Tasting
Colour
This white wine from France reveals a golden, pale and bright hue. Its striking clarity and beautiful luminosity attest to the meticulous care taken in its production, as well as to its youth.
Nose
The aromatic bouquet stands out for its elegance, revealing citrus notes of grapefruit and lemon zest, intimately mingled with white fruit. Floral touches of acacia intertwine with subtle notes of lavender and herbs, all underscored by a delicate mineral imprint reminiscent of shellfish.
Palate
The attack is lively and refreshing, carried by a lovely acidity typical of cool climates. The mid-palate offers a creamy, slightly buttery texture, perfectly balanced by a very pure chalky minerality. Discreet notes of white peach accompany a lingering finish, marked by a pleasant salinity that invites you to prolong the tasting.
Food and wine pairing
This cuvée pairs wonderfully with seafood, such as grilled or roasted fish, as well as shellfish and oysters. It also goes very well with a seafood risotto, light herb-roasted poultry, or dishes featuring buttery and hazelnut notes.
Service and storage
With its beautiful structure, this Beaune 1er Cru "Les Montrevenots" Domaine 2022 has remarkable aging potential. It can be enjoyed young to appreciate its vibrant freshness, but will continue to gain complexity in the cellar, drinking well until around 2032.

The estate
Founded in 1988 by Anne-Françoise Gros and François Parent, Domaine A.F. Gros is a renowned family estate located in Pommard, at the heart of Burgundy. Spanning 10 to 14 hectares, the vineyard is distinguished by its prestigious terroirs. Today, the estate is run by the second generation, Caroline and Mathias Parent, who took over in 2013. Named Winemakers of the Year in 2023, they continue to uphold the estate's excellence, combining respect for tradition with a contemporary approach to craft wines of remarkable precision.
The vineyard
The vines used for this cuvée come from the Les Montrevenots climat, a high-altitude terroir situated over 300 metres within the Beaune appellation. Facing south and southwest, this small plot benefits from optimal morning sunlight and a cool microclimate. The soils consist of a clay-limestone blend rich in gravel, small stones and white marl. The estate favours sustainable viticulture, with mechanical soil work and the use of sexual confusion techniques to protect the vineyard in an environmentally responsible way.
The vintage
2022 proved to be a particularly demanding growing season. The region faced difficult weather conditions and complex climatic patterns throughout the growing cycle, resulting in a notable production shortfall for this harvest.
Winemaking and aging
Following an entirely hand-picked harvest, the grape clusters undergo a rigorous multi-stage sorting process. The fruit is pressed directly without skin maceration to preserve its aromatic freshness. Fermentation of this Beaune 1er Cru "Les Montrevenots" Domaine 2022 then takes place in oak barrels. The wine is aged on the lees for approximately twelve months, with moderate use of oak so as not to mask the pure expression of its terroir.
