Domaine de Terrebrune is one of the most emblematic names in the great wines of Provence. Fascinated by the character of Bandol wines, Georges Delille founded the estate in 1963 and set about establishing a vineyard with the ambition of producing great wines that would reflect the typicity of this exceptional terroir. Major earthworks, restoration of the restanques (stone walls) and planting of vines were combined with the construction of the wine-making cellar in 1975. In 1980, a milestone in the history of the estate, the first vintage made by Georges Delille was released, and his son, Reynald, was born. Reynald has been running the estate alongside businessman Jean d'Arthyus since 2020.
Overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, the 30-hectare terraced vineyard benefits from a soil composed of limestone pebbles in brown clay, which inspired the estate's name. A typical feature of this great terroir that contributes to the unique style of the estate's wines, this ancient, poor soil encourages deep rooting through the cracks in the limestone, allowing the vines to draw on the mineral trace elements necessary for their development.
Since its creation, the Domaine de Terrebrune vineyard has been farmed organically. No weedkillers or chemicals are used, the soil is worked with a plough or by hand, and yields are controlled to guarantee grapes of exceptional quality.
Harvested when fully ripe and sorted by hand, the grapes are placed in vats by gravity. Priority is given to preserving the raw material throughout the vinification process in the estate's underground cellar, to ensure the production of great red, white and rosé wines that authentically express the characteristics of their terroir of origin.
The vineyards are planted with Mourvèdre, Grenache and Cinsault for the reds and rosés, and Clairette, Ugni, Bourboulenc, Rôle and Marsanne for the whites.
