Ferrucio Ferragamo discovered the 700-hectare estate in Il Borro village, not far from Florence, in 1985, while hunting. Overtaken by the beauty of the medieval village, Ferrucio Ferragamo ended-up acquiring the property in 1993. The 45 hectare vineyard is located 300 meters above sea level. The soil composition resulted from the movement of great lakes that covered the land during the Pliocene Epoch. Magnificent ochre-pink houses surrounding the property attest to the history of Tuscany's great families such as the Pazzi or the Medicis. Today, Salvatore Ferragamo (Ferrucio’s son) wishes to bring a modern touch to Tuscany wines. Il Borro vintages perfectly combine traditions with novelty.
