Bodega Numanthia is a Spanish cellar located in Castilla y Leon province. The winery was created in 1998 -although the property vines date back to 1880- before being acquired in 2008 by LVMH: the luxury goods multinational. The estate name refers to an ancient city renowned for the courage of its inhabitants who fought the Roman invasion to the death. Numancia also refers to the remarkable resistance of their vines which thrived over a century despite extreme weather conditions and the phylloxera plague. The vines age varies between 50 and 120 years old. This exceptional heritage allows the creation of superior wines in the Toro appellation: outstanding keep potential, very fruity, intense, and powerful. Numenthia and Termanthia are worthy representatives of the prestigious appellation.
