Appearance
With a natural, brilliant amber hue, this rum reveals glints reminiscent of a Caribbean sunset, the exclusive result of its contact with new oak.

Nose
Surprisingly gentle despite its strength, the nose is dominated by fine woody notes and aromas of candied red fruits. It opens with indulgent notes of vanilla cane candy, fresh raspberry and citrus dominated by orange. With aeration, touches of cocoa, chocolate and rich pastry notes unfold, accompanied by a hint of pepper and bagasse.

Palate
The attack is powerful, round and intense, embracing the palate without aggressiveness. The texture, surprisingly rich and almost syrupy, coats the palate with sweet, vanilla-tinged cane juice flavours, lifted by a genuine peppery note. The mid-palate evolves towards indulgent, pastry-like notes, blending caramelised citrus, lime zest, refreshing menthol and fine wood. The finish is lingering, marked by cocoa and delicious pastry notes.

Founded in 1895 by Henri Louis Philippe Longueteau, the Longueteau distillery is a historic pillar of Rum from Guadeloupe. Located in Capesterre-Belle-Eau, at the foot of the Soufrière volcanic massif, it thrives at the heart of the Domaine du Marquisat de Sainte-Marie. Now run by François Longueteau and his family, representing the fifth generation, it stands out for its complete independence. It is indeed the only distillery in the archipelago fully self-sufficient in raw materials, growing its own sugar cane without any chemical inputs. Production relies on Savalle-type Creole column distillation, allowing the quintessence of a rich, humid volcanic terroir to be extracted. The estate's values combine a deep respect for agricultural tradition with a constant drive for innovation, resulting in spirits of remarkable aromatic precision.

Genesis l'Ambre: The Ultimate Expression of Cask-Strength Column Rum
Genesis l'Ambre is an amber agricultural rum from Guadeloupe that pushes the boundaries of aromatic concentration. A trailblazer in the market, it is the first aged agricultural rum offered as both "brut de colonne" (unreduced column strength) and "brut de fût" (unreduced cask strength).

Made exclusively from pure red cane juice, this spirit is distilled in the estate's Creole column to produce a very high-proof distillate. Its production method is radical: the rum is drawn from the column at its natural strength, then barrelled without any reduction. It then undergoes two years of ageing in the "Henri" cellar, resting in new fine-grain, lightly toasted French oak barrels sourced from the Tronçais forest.

At the end of this ageing process, the rum is bottled at cask strength, preserving an aromatic identity of remarkable intensity. This prestigious cuvée is released in a limited edition, with batches restricted to 5,000 bottles, making it a highly sought-after piece for collectors and discerning enthusiasts seeking a pure, uncompromising sensory experience.
