Color
The color reveals a beautiful straw-yellow hue with golden highlights

Nose
Opening with pastry notes (French toast, vanilla), the nose develops throughout the tasting into delicious aromas of orange marmalade and candied fruit, underscored by toasty and smoky nuances, a testament to lovely maturity.

Palate
A round, full-bodied attack gives way to a palate texture reminiscent of crème anglaise, frangipane, and caramelized fruit, carrying through to a lively, persistent finish.

The estate

Founded in 1843 by Joseph Krug, a visionary and passionate man, the Krug Champagne House preserves a worldwide-unique library of more than 150 reserve wines, some of which are over 15 years old.

With more than 250 different plots, including the emblematic Clos du Mesnil and Clos d'Ambonnay, the Krug House holds an exceptional winegrowing heritage at the heart of the Champagne.

The cuvée

Since its founding, Krug has presented a new edition of its Grande Cuvée each year, offering the most generous expression of Champagne.

The 163rd Edition of Krug Grande Cuvée is the result of the blending of 145 wines from 12 different vintages. The youngest dates from 2007, the oldest from 1990. Making up 27% of the final blend, the reserve wines from the House’s illustrious library lend this edition remarkable richness and roundness. Aging for around seven years in the cellar gives it its expressive signature and unique elegance.
