Description
An emblematic Saint-Julien wine from an exceptional terroir
The property
An essential reference on the left bank of Bordeaux, the Château Léoville Barton was acquired by the Barton family in 1826. Classified as a 2nd Grand Cru since 1855, the property, still managed by the descendants of Hugh Barton, stands out for its commitment to elegance and stylistic consistency.
The vineyard
The vineyard extends over 50 hectares in the heart of the Saint-Julien appellation. The vines are planted on an exceptional terroir composed of deep gravel resting on a clay subsoil, typical of the great crus of the Médoc. This geological composition offers ideal natural drainage while allowing the roots to draw the necessary nutrients in depth. The average age of the vines is 38 years, giving concentration and complexity to the wines.
Vinification and aging
Aging in barrels, 60% of which are new.
Blend
This Château Léoville Barton 2024 is the result of a blend of 92% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Merlot, and 2% Cabernet Franc.
