Dom Pérignon : Vintage 2002

Champagne - White - 12.5° Dom Pérignon Dom Pérignon 2002 3035/02
  • Parker : 96
  • J. Robinson : 19
On the nose, this Dom Perignon vintage 2002 offers fresh almonds and harvest scents, then candied lemon and dried fruits hints. The bouquet is finally enhanced with darker expressions such as smoke and toast. On the palate it is surprising and truly stands out thanks to its density and creamy aspect. The wine appeals in a very energetic and warm way, conveying fruity aromas and then evolving in a deeper and darker way. The length is surprising and intense, characterized by a subtle bitterness.

Wine Advocate-Parker :
The 2002 Dom Perignon is at first intensely floral, with perfumed jasmine that dominates the bouquet. With time in the glass the wine gains richness as the flavors turn decidedly riper and almost tropical. Apricots, passion fruit and peaches emerge from this flashy, opulent Dom Perignon. The wine's volume makes it approachable today, but readers in search of more complexity will want to cellar this for at least a few years to allow for some of the baby fat to drop off. Geoffroy describes the vintage as very ripe and adds that some of the Chardonnay showed the ill-effects of the hot growing season in the somewhat burned, dehydrated fruit that came in that year. This bottle was disgorged in July, 2009. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2032.;2012 - 2032
